The fact that you’re looking for validation for quitting shows enough...if the majority here agrees and you don’t like the response, that’s on you bud.
Not missing practice or not dropping out of races doesn’t mean you’re effort is always A+. Be honest with yourself; is your work ethic higher than the average runner on your team? Are you known as a dedicated, hard worker? Are you committed to putting the team first?
Like others have said, utilize the meet as a tempo run or a workout. Use each day as an opportunity to be better. If you don’t want to, that’s fine...just don’t be surprised when people give you a hard time.
