So who is brave enough to take Parker up on his offer?

I would take him up on it if he would move to Boise and my wife approved.

I heard Timo’s taking the offer and claims he’ll have him in 2:04 shape by the trials
Agree with this poster's analogy. Sorry Mr. Stinson, it's the truth and you know it. You were hurting because you went out way too fast. Move on, but don't hint that it's coaching, not even as a joke.

Well put! How does Parker Stinson disagree with this?
I like the guy for being honest and communicating and having fun with letsrun. Pretty simple, he would've run 2:11 if he didn't run the first 10k so fast.
In his interview he stated that by going out that fast he hooked up with a group and that wouldn't have happened if he didn't go out at that pace. Here's the deal, that's not how a marathon works. You don't go out even 10 seconds per mile too fast to run with a group. Run a reasonable pace for YOU. Catch those guys who were so obviously running over their heads at mile 10,12 or 18. Get to mile 18-19 feeling good.
I'm not qualified to coach someone with Stinson's ability, but that advice is universal.
You just repeated what the poster said. Something original please.

Haha
Yes, I did that on Sunday, so it was original at the time. Stinson currently has 2:11 ability. If he continues on his current trajectory and god-willing learns proper pacing... who knows? 2:09-2:08-2:07?
One thing is certain, if he goes out at a pace 2-3 min above his current ability, he will always fall short.
Parker Stinson has you guys eating out of his hand just like Nick Symmonds did back in the day. Nick Symmonds eventually backed up his hype by running 1:42, winning silver at WCs, and bedding Paris Hilton. How are you haters going to feel when Parker Stinson runs 2:09:xx, places in the top 3 at a major marathon, and takes your gf home to stroke his curly locks afterwards?
This would be a great idea if he didn't require people to pay him. Seriously, have people on the board submit training plans and he can pick the best one for his next marathon.

https://twitter.com/parkerstinson/status/1050111678103281665If he were serious he would take off the they owe me b_s. What a crank.
Seriously, 2 time former USA marathon champ Ken Martin would be a very good choice.
I've always known that there were plenty of runners faster than me who were also far dumber. It doesn't help things when a guy 20 min. faster makes a s### show out of his failed attempt at 2:11.

No one is hating. You just have a huge problem with simple comprehension and unfortunately aren't smart enough to know why he didn't run faster on Sunday. He put it out there, others are responding. You obviously where rose colored glasses and sit in the back of the class. Please, stay there.

Wear does he sit?
If you know anything about Parker you would know this is a joke.
For starters Parker does not have $15k to his name. He works a minimum wage job and struggles to pay the rent. He was simply pointing out that THIS BOARD IS A JOKE. Any elite runner only read this board for entertainment. No elite is truly looking for knowledge from letsrun. That was his joke to all of us. Brad Hudson knows more about the sport than any of us.
Having said that, it is a coaches job to teach pace as well. Runners like Des Linden are considered smart because her coaches hammered her with learning pace.
Sure I'll coach him to a 2:11 5k marathon.
That all anyone ever cares about when you tell them you run marathons - whats your 5k marathon time. 2:10 should be easy.
Hudson coaching crux is he doesn’t know how to hold anyone back in training. Besides, has Brad even acknowledged Parker or any of his other athletes for that matter in the last few months? No. He’s been too busy with Allie Kieffer to even care about what Parker is doing. Parker’s pacing may have been a bit off the charts to begin with but that’s something he’ll learn as he develops in the sport. He just needs the right coach that won’t flake out at the last minute and hold him back in training a bit and he could very well start to touch sub 2:11. Besides, the dude has a personality and engages with people unlike Ruppy boy who has the personality of dead door nail and zero sense of humor.

Train like usual, only don't run 5m pace at 9000 feet for 40.247K a month before the race.
Buzz head. Wear 4% shoes. Wear half tights. Wear a tighter singlet. Head to Fukuoka. Don't go out so hard.
Why are people obsessed with his hair? Are the same people insisting elite women cut their hair too?
In Boulder everyone thinks they are a coach. Move somewhere where he can listen to ONE voice.

Let me see your calculations?
You are right, it is worse than I thought with my initial rough calculation.
First 5k: 14:57 --> 4:49 mile pace --> 2:06:21 marathon pace
Last 5k: 17:15 --> 5:34 mile pace --> 2:25:47 marathon pace
Splits here;

So he went out too fast. How much did that cost him? 30 seconds tops.
I interpreted it him saying that’s he’s 100% in favor of Brad Hudson, and is just basically telling LRC posters he doesn’t give a hoot what we say.
Dude went out too fast. Hair didn’t slow him down and if long hair makes him feel confident and fast the way a buzz does for me before a race, more power to him.
He’s still my guess for the Brian Sell- Jared Ward type continuity at the trials.
