I'm interested in why my you all (like me) love to run.
To pursue and achieve goals?
To feel good?
To improve health and longevity?
To be with friends?
To meditate, or even worship?
There are so many benefits. Which to you are paramount? Thanks.

I have to intimidate the neighbors by running around the neighborhood shirtless in my 1" split shorts. How else am I going show people how ALPHA I am?
Angry women chasing me.
I run to beat my previous base-less assumptions about myself.
Helps me deal with my daemons.
Because walking is too slow
At its heart, running is the purest form of self-improvement. You put in the work, you get better. You don't, you get worse. No nonsense, no bs.
Helps me resolve issues. Relaxing, enjoy time alone and for health benefits.
Running is a great way to stay in shape, to have a competitive outlet, to set and reach goals, to connect with people I would never meet otherwise, to meditate and complicated problems, and to compensate for my miserable failure in my career.

Amen to all that -- sorry about the career part of you are serious. My experience has been that running improves performance on the job.
didnt make the baseball team, had to go somewhere
Stayed in the sport because my middle school coach wouldn't let me quit when things got rough and now here I am.
Like Greg Maddux said, chicks dig the long run.
To quote Time by Pink Floyd:
I run because I enjoy running.
I run becuase the gym i joined has a lower membership rate for off-peak hours, so i signed up for it. But since i work during that time, i can never make it to the gym except for holidays and sometimes on Saturdays (its closed on Sundays and some of the holidays, come to think of it....). So i run instead.
But anyway, I'm saving a lot on my gym membership and learning not to hate running as much as i used to. And by the time i retire and can go to the gym full-time, i'll probably be too beat up to run anymore anyway, so i guess things just work themselves out sometimes.

yes

no

no

this is a strange on. One reason why have time to run is the fact that most of the friends have families now. When social life is kind of less active than before one has time to run. If I am with friends, I am not running.

No but I am able to think and develop ideas further when I am running. Or sometimes you to enjoy and relax.
When I started to run I did not like it all. It was a goal oriented project. I thought that I will improve my fitness, achieve my goal and stop running. Then I had some setbacks and finally realized that it is not only about the goals but running itself is a lot of fun. I like seeing new places, exploring the city by foot and just enjoying the sports. It's an amazing feeling to run along the coastline when the weather is nice.
Thus, nowadays the reasons are as follows:
1. I like to run
2. I want to achieve my goals
3. My work does not include any kind of physical activity. So I need sweat too
4. I am single and many my friends have families, i.e. I have free time
1) enjoyment
2) self improvement
3) competition
4) pride
5) stress reduction
Because it's what I do.
