Well, Mo does owe his career to Al. Al turned him into a world beater. So this is also a win for Al.
Crazy to think that Mo was a perennial bit part player at 5K for years, under one of the best coaches in the UK, until the age of 26 when he joined Al, and now at 35 he's a world beater in the Marathon at his third attempt at the distance.
Not sure why people are knocking Al Sal. Either it means that Al's vitamin c injections and the rest weren't as important as his actual world beating running coaching, or it means that Mo is getting something in East Africa that Galen just can't get.
Farah was training fodder for years with Mottram's group- professional training, prolonged stints in Africa, nice adidas contract. Suddenly, he's unbeatable after starting weight training? Huh? Something just doesn't add up. Even Adidas let Nike buy out the contrac without anything even close to a fight, as they thought he hadn't been worth the money he was being paid. Adidas was relieved to get out of the deal. Add his close association to Aden (then denying it), missed tests with bizarre excuses, two separate episodes of syncope, and lying about his whereabouts (coincidentally in Sabadell where Aden's EPO bust was), and anyone paying the slightest bit attention and not blinded by adulation would see that something isn't right. Unless there is a whistleblower that comes forward, a lab tech that doesn't know better, or emails/texts are leaked, adding a "sir" in front of the name will insulate him from any possible potential problem- legit or not.
