She's the first pro runner I have ever seen sponsored by Champion. Anyone ever seen or tried any of their gear? Curious as to what she will race in tomorrow.

Gym class shorts and obnoxiously heavy shirt. So ‘yes’ I have.
My High School jersey was made by Champion. That's been a few years ago...
She’s a joke, as evidenced by the quality of her sponsorship.

I forgot what happened to them!-maybe they took a marketing break of 20 years-they were popular gear in the 80's and 90's-sweatshirts and ball caps---the only runner I remember that they sponsored was Orlando Pizzolato the NYC champ in 84 and 85....

go to target. they have an entire line of synthetic clothing that is half the price of nike, asics, etc. It's the same stuff as well!
Was curious as to what shoes she would race in. Turns out she ran in the 4% (not that it made much of a difference)

Same for the majority of people who purchased that shoe.
Agreed - Champion stuff (Super Target) is very decent for the price, and actually holds up better than Nike gear I've gotten in recent years. I'm still partial to new stuff on ebay for no more than $15, but still grab Champion stuff now and then. I have no doubt most of it comes from the same factory somewhere.
Champion shoes are amazing. Minimal structure, excellent quality.
Don't knock them until you try them.

So Pappas is saying Champion shoes ain't worth a damn.
The C9 stuff at Target is not really Champion. Hanes just licenced the name to Target to put on their athletic wear.
Also, they are ending that collaboration...
Did she get dumped by them after she crapped the bed in Chicago?

No, she has undoubtedly never tried them since she's probably fallen for the technology hype.

Paul Cummings was sponsored by Champion, early 80s.

Converse.
My bad, thanks.
Someone above said the C9 stuff is Hanes? Any idea where the shoes are coming from? For $35, these don't look too bad.

Try them. The price is right. I tried the cheap Champion shoes and love them.
Made in China if that matters.

Champion is owned by Hanes.
Target gets it's own products and puts the C9 logo on it. And Hanes/Champion really have nothing to do with it.
Lots of "brands" do that nowadays.
