She didn't share details of her training, because it would be too difficult for other women to attempt.

I haven't noticed any cross training in Gwen's videos. She seems to struggle with 100 mile weeks. I wonder if she will get back on the bike/pool and reduce her running miles.

Good thing she was announced with the elites and got to show off her Olympic tattoo. Good stuff for her instagram feed
So Alexi wins against the haterbois!
SO BRAVEY
well I was looking at the race results and besides those who were in the lead pack the whole time, many of the Kenyans had poor late splits.

I'm wondering the same thing.
It may benefit her with her background to cut out doubles and do one run in the morning and then 60-120 minutes biking in the afternoon instead of a 4-6 mile easy run.

NOT enough long runs for Alexi...wait for it. Not enough prep races to see where she was at. Had a surprise half way and there's no where to go from there.

She finished one second in front of her. Congrats Sara, but to the dumbos on here, that's not BEATING anyone, it's finishing in front of them...by 1 second over a 52 plus minute race. Do try to keep things in perspective.
Actually, that does mean that she beat her.

Is there a video of this race?
So when are the BTC women going to start to turn on her? You can act like a prima donna when you are on the top but not when you are running slower than a lot of women who work full-time. It has to been very annoying to have Pat riding his bike next to you when you are running on the roads and Pat/Stanley yukking it up at the track every day while you are trying to focus on your workout.
Can’t find Galens post race interview. What did he say?

And according to you, 13 minutes behind the world record is a legitimate pro time? Because that is about 12%.
Here are other events, 12% off of the world record:
100m: 10.72
200m: 21.50
Mile: 4:09.8
5000m: 14:08
Do you consider those to be professional times? If so then you can call Stinson a legitimate professional runner. If not, you cant.
I'd like to see him succeed. He is an underdog and seems to have a real desire for success and is willing to make himself hurt. But until he runs an elite time, he is just another sub elite guy trying to reach the next level.
if people are paid to run those times then yes
as you arnt paying him its not youre problem

She out-kicked her = she beat her
It's no more complex or nuanced than that. Especially coming against Huddle.

+1. Congrats Mo, but to the dumbos on here, that's not BEATING Galen, it's finishing in front of him...by 1 minute...over a 125 plus minute race. Do try to keep things in perspective.

Well on my team, (---former D1 here), that #20 put you on the fourth team running jv meets, kinda like Boston.
So, in these terms, yes he's on Team Elite, but sub-elite on the team. Captain Sir Mo still likes his teammate buddy though, so Galen should still be seen as a cool teammate by association.

Um, no. You did not predict she would drop out. You were very clear that she might drop out.

I want to go with Laura, but she is carrying a pubic bone injury, that has been affecting her running. It might rear its head during the race, so I'm sure how much she can push during the race.
However, if she is not bothered by it, she should be able to be the first female american to cross the finish line.

#20 all time is different from #20
I noticed that Chicago made slight changes to the 2018 marathon course from previous years.
Is there any reason for this ?
The course goes 2 blocks farther north and there were many other minor changes.
Is this new course an improvement ?
Never been a fan but give credit where credit is due. He’s still a mile+ faster than America’s number 2 stooge.
Been following Suguru on Instagram. Congrats to him.
Door is definitely open if Ritz can stay healthy.
Finally the door is also open for Lagat to do something in NY.

Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
