Lose the pacemakers please!! We've got a race now and not a time trial, pull them.

Looks like Choge has already dropped out, well that didn't take long, he was talking a big talk with "boots on the ground" on Friday though ;-)

Explain to me why it's 'smart' for a 32min girl to go out in 36min?
So, a 32:20 PR time is about 36min pace

chumba, kipkemboi, and legese are out of the top 10 at 10k
first two rejoined after 15, legese still m.i.a.
The Brit on NBCGold just announced that we are not going to see a world record today "which we did not expect with the weather." Uh yeah, and without Eliud MFing Kipchoge.
kirui is really itching behind these pacemakers -- whipped around to the side of them for a bit, looking to almost want to go around. pack is starting to fracture a bit behind mo
This race is playing right into Mo’s hand, where he controls the race from behind.
I think G Kirui is the only who realizes that, which is why he surged.
There are three true fast 10000m runners out there : karoki, rupp and mo.
The way that this is going , it is going to come down to a serious 10k-5k kick...and favor those three runners.

That is too bad. He has run 59:20 and is guided by Sang, Kipchoge et al so I wouldn't write him off yet.

Who said Chumba wasn't there ? He is !
Pace seems to pick up a bit 45:04 at 10k -> 02:06:47
chumba wasnt top 10 at 10k, i said that, and your 45.04 was at 15k
In the women's race, lead pack has lost Veronicah Nyaruai at 15k. Down to 5 women now.

lol, a paced world record attempt is way way more interesting than 10 men jogging at a much slower pace than planned
Also I don't understand why Laura Thweatt went out that slow and well, Jorgensen not even under 2:30 pace is embarrassing.

She's on 2:31 pace idiot!!!! If she runs negative splits and breaks 2:30, she's run a very good race. What else do you need explained?
Marathon is 10% slower pace than the 10km wrote:

Not even close, should be very comfy in 34.30

I don't know. In a final 400m sprint in a marathon is different from the track or even the half marathon. I think Galen can out kick Mo if it comes down to a sprint finish. Rupp looks like the more economical marathon runner.

Wrong AGAIN, Legese is absolutely in the mix.
F-ing leaderboard site not working for me. Problems for anyone else.
Kirui is stringing out the pack again.

Blinky Bill, get a clue...sit and listen, you obviously don't understand elite racing.
the 6th girl is still running a pace that is 10.40 under her pb

2:31 is extremly slow for someone who ran 15:15 and wants to be in 2:19 shape in two years.

For a 32:20 runner?
No.
Do you think that 27:00 10k men are "very comfy" at 29:00 / 14:30 pace??
