42 degrees for the low temperature Saturday night.
53 degrees for the high on Sunday.
dry weather.
a bit nippy in the morning on race day but that is the way it is.

Great user name! A Husker Dü reference?
Yes, the weather looks very promising. I fly to Minneapolis tomorrow and am looking for a fast time. Goodbye 6000 feet, hello 800 feet. To borrow a hashtag that Molly Huddle used today on her Instagram as she left Flagstaff for Minnesota, #yayforincreasedpartialpressureofoxygen
Any ideas for things to do? I'll arrive Friday afternoon and plan on getting the expo out of the way before it gets too crowded. I want to rest as much as possible in the hotel but don't want to get cabin fever either. I'm figuring I'll stop by the Cathedral of St. Paul after the expo since they are in close proximity and then hit the Mall of America for a couple hours on Saturday. Other than that I'll probably just chill in the hotel and watch some college football and catch up on some work. Are there any "must do's" in Minneapolis/St. Paul?
Unless you’re into the mall scene, MOA can be left out. Not worth the headache in my opinion.
The Walker Sculpture Garden is pretty cool if you’re into that. The Stone Arch Bridge is a cool sight too. Minnehaha falls is pretty, and a fun outing, but expect some crowds. There are a handful of historical mansions in St. Paul that are worth touring. JJ Hill house, Alexandra Ramsey house.
The Cathedral is gorgeous and worth seeing, regardless of religious beliefs.
If you clue me in on what interests you I can give you plenty of options.
Thanks MN Born. I like male strippers. Shhhh! Our little secret. What about Paisley Park or Valley Scare?
You could join one of the hundreds of Muslim sleeper cells in the twin cities.
could go to Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis and search for the places that Mary Tyler Moore walked during the opening credits. The Mary Tyler Moore statue is there near the intersection where the hat was tossed into the air.
This might be tiring on the legs though.
I recommend the Stone Arch bridge and the Falls as a cool spot to see. But maybe too much walking before a marathon.

Not sure where you'll be staying, but if you're close* to it, getting a pass to take the Green Line light rail might give you a decent Mpls-to-St Paul tour along the main east-west axis between the two cities. Goes by the sports stadiums, the ethnic-food corridor of University Ave., Capitol, Surly Brewing, Univ of MN, and the downtowns.
* apologies for the sad state of transit for our metropolitan area

As another poster mentioned - skip the MOA. It really is just a big mall. Nothing special. All the stuff within walking distance of the expo will be pretty crowded. If you have a rental car, drive to Stillwater. Only about 30 minutes and it is a cool little town to kick around in for an afternoon. Far enough away that it won't be crowded. I also second the suggestion to walk around Minehaha falls. That is a pretty area. If you have to stay within walking distance of the expo, the history museum is also pretty cool. Good luck!
The weather does look to be perfect. I’m so glad it’s not supposed to rain till later in the day. We’ve been lucky this year with the weather at both Grandma’s and Twin Cities
Sit in your hotel room with curtains drawn and TV off. Visualize every step of the marathon. Then do it again.

Ha, good one. At least you were pretty original.
Anyway, the Cathedral is definitely on my list and I may hit up the falls since they are not too far from my hotel. Staying in Bloomington near the MOA. Chilling at Chicago O'Hare right now bored out of my mind.
I second Minnehaha Falls, it a nice outing but be prepared to not be overly breathtaken - it holds a special place in my heart though because I do a lot of training there and run the stairs there. J.J. Cahill tour would be good too - again, it's a great stair running place but not that you'd be doing stairs the day before your marathon. The skywalk system downtown Mpls is the largest in the world, the system downtwon St.Paul is the second largest in the world and much more entertaining than MOA. The restaurant scene is incredible, I hope you have a good restaurant picked out, I can't even recommend one there are so many good ones. Hope you enjoy your trip and good luck in your marathon !
Rent a car or taxis and metro?

I wouldn't bother getting a car, if I interpreted your pre-race intentions right.
If you're staying near MOA, you could get to several, but not all, via Blue Line to Green Line light rail. Both downtowns, Stone Arch Bridge / Guthrie Theater (overlook free to the public), Capitol-- all that off the Green Line. Minnehaha Falls is off the Blue Line, and across a highway, but easily done.
To get to some places (Summit Ave mansions / Cathedral, History Museum/ you'd need to transfer to buses, have some moderate-to-long walks, or take taxis/ride shares.
https://www.metrotransit.org/metro-systemI trust your lodging is near the Blue Line or has enough of a shuttle service to get you there.

Please stay out of our city.
I spent most of my twenties living in Minneapolis and I agree 110% with those who say to skip the MOA. It’s a display of America’s obsession with consumerism. The Minnehaha falls are cool, as suggested along with the Stone Arch Bridge. If you do want some shopping, Nicollet Mall would be the way to go because at least youd be downtown. If you stay near the expo in St Paul, the Science Museum usually has some pretty cool exhibits. Grand Avenue could be fun to do some shopping/exploring on too. Have fun and report back! I miss it there. Happy racing to you.
Just head over to the Cedar-Riverside area...it's all one HUGE sleeper cell.

There are Muslims from several continents in Minneapolis and Saint Paul area. You singled out African Muslims. You are not a good person!
