Does the race go on as scheduled? Do they turn away 45000 people?

YUKI MF KAWUACHI FTW!!!!
Storming without lightning. Run, and be happy it is rain cooled and breezy.
Lightning? Prepare for a noon start after they give the all clear.
Wet weather favors a former triathlete.
If Mr. Kawauchi wins the many sponsored runners on Letsrun.com will say it was only because of the foul weather as was the case in Boston where he toughed it out when others allowed the elements to intimidate them into a poor performance.

Rain is forecast for the next six days.......I hope it pours
Go Yuki.........
Then you get guys like Yuki Kawauchi winning? Also other less known people will also be up in the standings?
Simple, KawauchiFTW !!!
I hope everyone who is running the Chicago marathon and is here from out of town knows what is really going on here right now (I live here, unfortunately).
We currently have the following issues:
- a f*cking serial killer/spree killer shooting random people on the north side. there are 40 detectives and FBI assigned to this case and they have no idea who this guy is.
- the Van Dyke jury is deliberating and NO MATTER what the verdict is there will potentially be RIOTS. groups are already protesting and will continue no matter the verdict. Chicago PD is fully expecting riots.
- all cops are on mandatory 12 hour shifts (since yesterday)
- there have been several armed car jackings (that's business as usual) and there was a shoot out in another north side neighborhood during the day yesterday, where the suspects tried to ram the police, and then they got away. They WILL car jack someone else at the next opportunity.
With the weather, and all this garbage, potentially riots, there is the possibility for some serious crap to go down before/during/and after the race -- if I were scheduled to run Chicago I would just skip it and go run another race. All employers in the downtown area told their employees to stay home today because of the impending verdict.

Sounds like the perfect chance to grab a free pair of vapoflys. #justdoit
And the Bears are 3-1 and the Cubs are eliminated.
+1 on this. Just had a meeting about getting our daily deliverables done first, grab your laptops, and get ready to leave in case anything happens. There's also word of closing public transportation so people won't come in to the city.
Storming like this? From the sounds of Chicago right now, this just might be the case.
Seems like those crap 4% shoes slipping on all the lane markings are the least of our worries.
The rain is honestly a great thing to be happening this weekend:
It will (hopefully) limit the response to the van dyke verdict.
It will (hopefully) give my main man Yuki K even more confidence/energy and another shot at a top finish.
Cold and rainy might favor Yuki better than warm and rainy but I think it levels the field some. I assume some Kenyan I've never heard of wins.
Van Dyke found guilty of 2nd degree murder and aggravated battery w a firearm for all 16 shots...
So what does this do for the city? I think it tempers the protests, although the sentencing is still going to be tense at some point.

There were already rallies forming in a few parks just for the verdict announcement so since those people are already out and the news cameras are in their faces, they will stay out and do the justice is served thing. Should be much better for the rest of the weekend.
Did you catch your train back to Naperville?
And this is why I carry a gun lol
