I am not sure what I am doing wrong, I can't really put everything on no talent as it seems too easy.
I do traditional marathon training (long run/tempo/marathon) with 12 weeks training with minimum 50mpw.
Between those marathon trainings I still run around 30mpw so I do not completely stop.
All my marathons go well for the first half and then I fade into slowness.
I've tried to go super slow and do a negative split but the result is the same; I still hit a point when I'm too tired to push through at that pace (the time loss is quite dramatic).
I see people running less than 3h with that kind of mileage so I'm a bit surprised.
I'm 28 male, not overweight (22 BMI).
PR in shorter races should indicate faster marathons: 5k/10k/half/ with 20'/43'/1:40 (all without specific training and as part of a race for some).
What could I be doing wrong?
