Banana Bread?
I’d be interested if you can find somewhere where people are calling him the GOAT distance runner. Pretty sure they are using GOAT in the context of the marathon.
I think most people are referring to Kipchoge as the marathon GOAT. No one questions that Bekele was better on the track and in XC during his prime.
But Bekele has been plagued with injury and inconsistency since 2010, with a few outstanding performances, And Kipchoge has dominated the marathon like no one else.
Um, Kipchoge wasn't even 20 years old then.. We actually never got to see them face off in their primes.
Please explain how Kipchoge was 18 in 2003 and still not yet 20 in 2008.

Bekele is only 2 years older.

Referring to the first video.
If you think they are in their prime at the same time despite their age similarity you are deluded.

Yeah, and Webb, Ritz and Hall are close to Farah in age.

In Kenya, these things are possible.

Hilarious to see bugmen post this type of nonsense in every thread about E. African runners.

So tell us, when was Kipchoge in his prime?
Is it just me, or does Kipchoge look a lot less smooth in these videos than he does now? I understand that the speed and terrain are very different, but his head is moving a lot more, and his torso isn't quite as stable. I feel like I'm watching the "worse twin" compared to Berlin.
Bekele was an absolute colossus though
Future marathon GOAT beating El G & Bekele in 5k, with a kick no less.

So tell us, when was Kipchoge in his prime?
Last weekend.
Did Kipchoge also run a 26:49 10,000m with a 12:57 second 5k in Paris?
Didn’t think so.

The Kipchoge of today would be destroyed by Bekele in his prime on the track. OTOH, I think prime Bekele would have also destroyed today's Kipchoge in the marathon.
You missed the best one, Banana Bread.
18-year-oid Kipchoge wipes the floor with El Gherrouj AND Bekele.

That might have been Bekele's prime....but Kipchoge's prime is now. In 2018 I'd put my money on Kipchoge against Bekele at literally every distance from 100m to marathon.
Doesn't mean Bekele's no good - 2018 Bekele is probably equivalent to the 2005 Kipchoge in that race clip you shared: Very good, but not all-time.
