Same thing happened on my Cavu after about 150-200 miles. The tear was about 3.5” long along the side where it connects to the sole. It’s happening to me now in a pair of New Balance.
I’ve noticed this on a lot of brands lately. I’m a coach and I’ve seen athletes in New Balance, Brooks, and ASICS who have all had similar tearing.
Part of me thinks it has as much to do with the rainy and humid weather as it does with poor materials and construction.
Companies are shooting for lighter and lighter, but the materials just don’t hold up to being wet or sweaty, then stiff as it dries, then run in. That’s just my opinion.
