So I have entered a 24hr race. I have done ultras before and I think I have a fairly good idea of how I want to prepare. But am intrigued as to how others would prepare.
Forget whether you think ultras are stupid/slow or whatever, just consider if it were you. and you had no other races to do, how you would attack such a challenge.
Just sheer high mileage? Doubles? How would you structure your week? Any faster running still? Walking breaks in long runs?
Really intrigued how others would approach it. Mention whether you have any experience at marathon or ultras or even 24hr racing. I'd be interested to see how the thinking might differ with those who have never raced longer distances.
