We have several small schools in our area, all of which have 1 or 2 good runners, none of which have 4 or 5. It seems to me that all of the kids would benefit by being able to train together, but we have a state association rule against it. (I asked for clarification and was told it was an old law - that practicing together is seen as "recruiting".)
What do you think? Is it even a good idea to have different teams practice together? Does the rule make sense?

(I asked for clarification and was told it was an old law - that practicing together is seen as "recruiting".) Apparently, at one point, someone did this, and a kid transferred from one school to another...
The way I see it, kids can't have a scheduled practice with another team unless the two schools have a joint team. Kids from multiple schools can run together but there can't be a coach involved.
If the schools don't locate in the same city it is simply impractical to train together.
