So after the first two pacers dropped, the pace picked way up. 14:18 from 15k to 20k, which is the fastest 5k split of the race so far.
Now 61:06 at halfway for Kipchoge. Well under the record, though he's six seconds slower than he went through halfway in London earlier this year.
Kipsang and Amos Kipruto are next closest in 62:07.
Boit looks like he’s ready to pop at any moment.
Kipchoge looks like he's suffering a bit... Not his usual smooth self.
i think the pacemaker just had a PR for the HM...think they said he had a ~61:30 PR
BTW, my favorite part of this race so far has been Kipchoge's drinks guy. He's done this at least three times so far.

Kipchoge lost 2 pacemakers, now he only has Boit, it looks like Eliud will have to run alone in the sexond half which will be tough.
Boit is likely to push Kipchoge to at least 25K or even 30K. He is a very strong athlete with a 59:19 for half marathon on his debut this year. He is in the same group as Eric Kiptanui who was to chase the Half marathon world record in Copenhagen. He should be able to handle world record pace up to 30K.

Hard to tell. Pegasus maybe?
Now that I think about it more, it has to be the Streak 6... I don't think Nike has any other marathon shoes. At least none that have been publicized excessively everywhere or anything.
is it wrong that every time i hear Josh Cox talk all i can picture is him as the third wheel in the “no boundaries” extended hugging it out with Desi and her husband after Boston?
why do sponsors give their male athletes pink shoes to wear? I'm not gonna go buy pink shoes.
Ok. I'll give my thoughts like Wejo.

Ok. I just woke up. Was trying to catch them around halfway.
Thoughts without reading this thread:
1) First thing I immediately thought was "looks hot"
2) Only saw 2 pacers with Kipchoge and thought "he's not getting record"
3) Now there is only 1 pacer- how could they not get more pacers than this? or racers? Kipchoge just running by himself is a bit less exciting for viewing purposes. There are a jillion guys in Kenya who can run 1:01 in the half.
4) Race must have started at 3:15 not 3.
5) I'll read the thread to catch up.
1) My first thought weather wise was " it looks calm."
2) My first thought having read this thread and seen the sun is "How hot is it." I'm VERY disappointed no one is talking about the weather. I saw a single post about the temps. I saw one guy say it was 50 degrees at the start. Is that true? What is the TEMP? I'm dissappointed in you LRC. The weather will decide if he gets this.
3) How in the F do you only get 1 pacer?
4) Despite #3, did Kipchoge not learn anything from MANZA? What is he running next to the pacer? I guess it's more relaxing than running behind one guy? But this is the OPPOSITE OF MANZA?

To be clear, the final remaining pacer is not American Josphat Boit, the former Arkansas runner. It's Josphat Kiprono Boit, who has run 59:19 for the half marathon this year.
Some 39 yo guy?
https://www.iaaf.org/athletes/kenya/josphat-kiprono-menjo-2061962:54 last K. Kip wants pacer right in front, not off to the side
I must say Kipchoge looks good...no sign of fatigue.
Those vapor flies are going to be questioned. Seriously. How much fatigue is being taken off.
Rojo, Kipchoge has been motioning for the pacers to run directly in front of him many times. It's not his fault, they keep straying.
Jesus. Turned this on at 33min and the only lead pack is EK and his pacers. Now 1 pacer.
Can’t see EK getting caught. But looks too nice out for a WR but what do I know.
Go Eliud! Go Tirunesh!

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
