As we move forward, don't worry about the gap to Kimetto. Worry about 14:34. That's the average time per 5k for Kipchoge.
At 30k, he was 40 seconds ahead of the 2:02:57 pace. He was 1:27:45 and WR pace is 1:27:25. So that means over the final 12.2 km, he could run that in 4:46.7 mile pace or 14:50.5 per 5k - 2:58.1 per k - and still equal the WR.
Poor Bekele, his dreams of holding all 3 WRs are getting crushed
Tirunesh is trailing Edna Kiplagat by about 20 meters, and they're both trailing Gladys Cherono and Ruti(sp?) Aga by about 50 meters?
Kipchoge is sweating but he's still looking good.
Feels like the sub-2 event, a bit.
Still almost a minute up on W.R. Low, low 2:02 pace at almost 35K!!
Edna Kiplagat
Kiplagat, Edna (KEN) F30 2:18:23 11:33:24 +00:19 01:38:23
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VVGsADSmp0bLXND5H4Z92Q45zQ6w2NNM/view?usp=sharingSo he just dropped a 14:18 from 30 to 35k?
35 km 1:41:03
If he breaks the WR by a huge margin, I have to question the tech of those shoes.
It has come to that.
He is showing no sign of fatigue.
This is crazy.
BTW, is it legal for Kipchoge to take more drinks than the ones at every 5k? He has taken much more than the other athletes.
Hutchings already calling a sub 2:02

There's lots of things of things to question about the E. Africans.

I hope to see the first 2:01:xx marathon. That will be worth staying up all night.

Scorpion, you dismissed his world record ability even before the race started. I do not expect you to accept what you are witnessing. Kipchoge is making me real proud. I believed he could do it and he is on his way to DO IT!
On the German feed who is the young excitable German chick being interviewed every now and then?
