Absolutely. Don't forget to take a couple of sports gels as well to help keep your isotonic levels up especially with your muscles feeling fatigued.
i heard about using a self-massaging tool on sore muscles and tried it. I think it helps. It is simply a waxer/buffer you would use on a car, and has a speed of between 3500 to 4500 rpm. Pretty simple, really. I heard about it in the NY Times a few weeks ago.

My PT used one of these on me just a few weeks ago. Good idea
I think it's better to wear compression a day or two before the race during the day. I don't think you're supposed to sleep in compression gear because you can cut off blood circulation while you're asleep and not moving.
another reason to not sleep in compression is that with your feet and legs elevated, theirs less of a need to force blood out of the legs. I just googled it and yes, their seems to be a consensus of opinion not to wear them at night unless prescribed to do so by your doctor. Good call, NewtotheSouthSide.
