What would you do for tactics in Chicago, if you were Rupp?

Rupp in Chicago:

He got the win by ripping off five straight sub-4:40 miles for miles 22 (4:39), 23 (4:35), 24 (4:30), 25 (4:34), and 26 (4:33) to decimate the five-man lead pack.

4:34 pace

22:44 8k

28:22 10k pace

he ran his final 5.2188 miles in an unofficial 24:02 – that’s 4:36.3 per mile, or 2:00:45 marathon pace.

If Rupp is in Prague shape Mofart doesnt stand a chance. Id be surprised if he ends up top 5. Rupp will likely blow everyones doors off in the last 5k.

I see Mo trying to keep up with Rupp in the latter stages failing miserably, eventually collapsing to the ground in convulsions then inexplicably and uncontrollably doing the mobot while writhing in the middle of the road eventually getting kicked in the nuts by Hasay.

go thru in 62, draft, make a move after 20 miles if it's there.

achilles injury if slight could be a blessing if he backs off,

if not slight forget it.

gotta love the idea of rupp and moe the last few miles.

anyway, marathon is a crap shoot

Weather will decide what kind of strategy is best that day for winning. Both Galen and Mo are good hot weather runners, though Galen might have edge on hot day because of LA trials experience. If cool and pack stays together until final 10k then it's depends who is on that day. Still give slight edge to Galen because experience on this course if ankle is healthy. Will Yuki pr or be in contention at the end?

Can't we all just agree that both of their marathon careers are a joke and ignore them? Neither of them is ever going to be the best marathoner. After being at it for years, they have PB's of 2:06. They've repeatedly done better at HM but neither is improving there either. That's why they're ducking the elite and racing each other. What a charade, using their past glory to dupe viewers into thinking their duel is a top-level event.

To whoever is going to mention Rupp's olympic medal, go soak your head.

If you can hold on, you're going to set the AR, probably win the race and then the haters of LetsRun will finally get off your back for not running fast from the gun, not sitting and kidding and not winning a race with quality competition. You're a 4 hour marathoner as is Banana Bread Head. Stay on the sidelines and listen to others who know. Rupp was NOT injured. He wouldn't have raced if he was, end of thread.

I personally don't care if anyone on here is elite or not, but grow up already and stop with the kindergarten questions, it's beyond silly.
