I understand your vitriol for MJ, and agree that his performances were pharmaceutically enhanced. However, yes, AA's are at a significantly higher risk for stroke, especially age >50. The most common etiology of stroke in my surgical practice in this population is typically carotid artery disease. Though, DVT with PFO, post MI, and just plain afib (most common for acute embolism) is more common overall. Interesting article:
