Yes I do. Elijah is 25, he's not getting any faster. Jakob has had a long and exhausting season, had to deal with becoming one of the most famous individuals in his country, has been ill since the European Championships (where he won double gold), all this at the age of 17, and he's less than a second behind Elijah and destroyed the African who won the bronze medal behind him and Tim.
Look at the progress Jakob (again) made this year. Just a few months ago he stunned just about everybody (except me) when he ran 3:52 in the Bowerman Mile (and beat Centro). Then he runs 3:31 in Monaco (probably could have gone sub 3:30) and wins two golds at the European Championships in 2 days, not to mention beating Barega over 5000 at the Worlds.
It's a bit unlikely Jakob's progress is suddenly going to stop. He should be 2 or 3 seconds faster over 1500 next season and that will be too fast even for Tim. Not to mention the impact of having a WADA lab just a few kilometers from Rongei and Kenyan athletes having to give at least 3 tests in the 10 months before Doha.
That was probably the last time we will see Elijah beat Jakob.
