Heike Dreschler. There's a name I haven't heard in a while.

I'm not a fan of Conseslus, Beatrice and Elijah showboating while the race is still on. So unKenyan.
Elijah is going to get destroyed by Jakob next season, Tim too.
Jakob bravely agreed to represent his continent and take him on even though he'd been ill the week before. Elijah only a few strides ahead in a slow race.
Ouma's boys are going home devastated to their potato farms time and time again next year.
Mens 3k was superb!!! can't believe Chelimo managed to not knock someone over given his usual tactical incompetence.
Looks like Zakayo isn't the next big thing..

Something to think about next time you do a fartlek.
What's the point of this interview sideshows? Most Czechs don't speak English.
Welcome end to a drawn out track season. Bring on the roads.
Hey Scorpion dude;
Is that going to be the excuse next year at the END of September in Doha at World's - season too long, the "real" athletes should have shut it down months earlier! Everyone knows that you should be peaking for Pre, NCAA's and/or Trials (anything after these is an afterthought).
Athletes and coaches are going to have plan their season carefully as it is potentially a long year, much like those who did Commonwealth's in April this year but still ran the DL final and Continental Cup. In other words some coaches/athletes are still trying to assess how they handle a long year and to see how best to structure their training and competitions - but then since you have all the answers that wouldn't be a problem for you.
You seem really way too worked up about Jakob losing to a good runner. Like chill out brah.

Most Czechs who are athletics fans do speak English, and anyway, it's not in Slovakia (Slovaks), not the Czech Republic.

I would like to know: Do you REALLY believe this? Or is it just some reflex to write in favour for your boys?

This reads like a press release for the North Korean Olympic team.

Her name is Heike Drechsler.
I've read many times "Dreschler" in letsrun - she's one of the all-time greats in athletics.

Yes I do. Elijah is 25, he's not getting any faster. Jakob has had a long and exhausting season, had to deal with becoming one of the most famous individuals in his country, has been ill since the European Championships (where he won double gold), all this at the age of 17, and he's less than a second behind Elijah and destroyed the African who won the bronze medal behind him and Tim.
Look at the progress Jakob (again) made this year. Just a few months ago he stunned just about everybody (except me) when he ran 3:52 in the Bowerman Mile (and beat Centro). Then he runs 3:31 in Monaco (probably could have gone sub 3:30) and wins two golds at the European Championships in 2 days, not to mention beating Barega over 5000 at the Worlds.
It's a bit unlikely Jakob's progress is suddenly going to stop. He should be 2 or 3 seconds faster over 1500 next season and that will be too fast even for Tim. Not to mention the impact of having a WADA lab just a few kilometers from Rongei and Kenyan athletes having to give at least 3 tests in the 10 months before Doha.
That was probably the last time we will see Elijah beat Jakob.
