Kurgat cannot improve on her performance from last year at NCAAs. So New Mexico will have to rely on other runners to do better than they did last year to beat a very strong Oregon team this year.
Their #2 and # 3 BEST case scenario can only go up a couple spots each when they were 6th and 9th last year.
There are a lot of talented runners out there as mentioned. Kurgat didn't exactly light it up in track either. There is a ton of talent out there in the NCAA that can compete at that level. Besides, Franklin isn't really known for developing runners from decent athletes to national level, he just manages runners who have already run fast.
