His times are still slower overall. Big difference between a 4:01 miler and a 3:50 miler.
At the moment anyone can beat Lilesa.
Very much so. Big difference between 26:44 on the track and a 27:28 road race as well.

Very true.

The fairytale continues on the women's side. A WR attack will happen for them too. ( 64:51 )
Netsanet Gudeta - World Half Champ - 66:11 on a ridiculously windy day, Women's only WR holder.
Joan Melly - 65:04 PB in Prague 2018, on a difficult course.
Edith Chelimo - 65:52 PB
Ruth Chepngetich - 66:19 PB, 2nd Paris Marathon 2018
Ababel Yeshaneh - 66:22 PB in 2018
Mary Wacera - 66:29 PB
Meskerem Assefa - 67:42/2:21:45 PB's
Jordan Hasay - 67:55/2:20:57 PB's
Hiwot Gebrekidan - 68:00 PB
Zeineba Yimer - 68:08 PB

Doesn't Hasay have a broken foot?
Because he’s the man!

Congrats for all your work D.Katz, much appreciated!
As for Hasay, she is listed, i don't know whether she will start, but i think she does.
Can't start that party without 800m+ GOAT Augustine Choge, the only runner ever to go
sub 1:45
sub 3:30
sub 7:30
sub 13
sub 60 (59.27)
has only ran 2 HM's so far, WR is his destiny.

No chance. Why?
Hasn't raced at all since Feb 2017. His Pb's except the 800 are similar to Mo Farah's, who we know hasn't gone after fast times too often. Saying Choge was capable of a sub 59 time, i agree, but not anymore, father time has caught up with him.
A WR? Pure bollocks. His stated age is 31, but we know its not real. Why?
1. Half Marathon in Sep 2002, age 15, 1:06:12
2. Ran 12:57 as a 17 yo.
3. Ran 3:37 1500m as a 16yo.
All this results are very very doubtful to me. I guess he is more like 33-35.
Is this a fast course? Is a WR actually possible?

Hope Rupp gets the WR lolololol.
????????

With testosterone level issues ?
The course is as fast as you can get. Just as good as Berlin, The Hague, Ras al Khaimah.
There will be 2 issues.
1.The wind - sometimes it can blow hard, however these days, it's calm.
2.The rain - it rains quite often in Denmark, we have to hope it won't spoil the party.
3.The temperature - Usually it's chilly in Copenhagen, however the race will start at 11 am local time, so we will see.
Apart from these, it's 100% a world record course if things allign. In my opinion, Erick Kiptanui is odds-on to break the WR.
I just hope he beats Ryan Halls records ...

Kool that Rupp is running this but I dont see him going all out. Not 3 weeks before Chicago.
Good thing it's 4 weeks before Chicago.
Nope 22
No Bedan Karoki!?
...Jesus invented abortion.
Bedan Karoki will not take part in this race. He is scheduled to run Chicago Marathon on October 7, and opted to choose the Buenos Aires half marathon last weekend, where he placed 2nd to Mosinet Geremew who is also going to run the Chicago Marathon and i think he might be the favourite.
Between Buenos Aires and Chicago are 6 weeks and between Copenhagen and Chicago are only 3 weeks, so he knows what works better for him and why he took this decision.
Copenhagen update : Geoffrey Kamworor WILL NOT take part in this year's race. He is reported to run the New York City marathon on November 4. Rumour: Kamworor is expecting to lead the pacemaking duties at the Berlin Marathon to help long-time friend and mentor Eliud Kipchoge break the WR.

Rupp can break the AR without going all out - likely what you'll get here. Solid tempo effort around 59:35-59:40.
I'd say this is nowhere near the best half marathon field that could be assembled today, let alone all time.
The absence of Kamworor, Bedan Karoki, Farah or any notable marathon guys like Kipchoge or Kipsang kind of makes this field feel like it's filled with one hit wonders.
The WR might go, but the field could be a lot better. Out of all the names I'm most excited to see Wanjiru running
Interesting that Rupp is doing this race two weeks after the 10 miler in Holland. I wonder if he's going to fly back to OR after the sept 2nd race and then fly back to Europe less than 2 weeks later. Since he's doing Chicago it would make sense for him to stay over in Europe and have his training camp there.
