I spent 48.8 % of my life with this as the WR !!!!!!!!
Houston McTear 9.0 100 yards HS record which was also the WR.
Kouros 24 hour record is untouchable.
Ricky Henderson 132 bases stolen or something absurd.....that will never be touched the way the game has changed.
As long as juiced t&f records are being mentioned....
Flo Jo 10.49
Nobody outside the US cares about 2 miles. I have been following T&F for more than 30 years and was hardly aware of the fact that this distance is run somewhat frequently and official records are kept. It is about as interesting to me as 4k or 6k record would (actually less because these two I could somewhat estimate without the help of a pocket calculator).
8.90
Bob Beamon's long jump record changed the sport and even the language (we now have the adjective Beamonesque).
Sir Roger's 3:59.4 was important, but incremental. Moving the LJWR from 8.35 to 8.90 was not incremental.
9.58. Only 2 other performances under 9.7 (both 9.69) in the most glamorous and competitive event in T&F.
running 202 miles in under 51 hours.
It is difficult to even stay awake for 51 hours.
superhuman effort.

Didn't Kouros run 473 km (around 293 miles) in 48 hours?
Nolan Ryan's 5,714 strike outs.
The geologic record has gotta be a candidate.
Camille Herron- 100 mile World Record last yr, over 1 hr better than previous record.
Jandek's next album or my perfect work attendance record of the last 28 years or possibly Jamin's consecutive days without a date.

Yes indeed
6.05 US HS PV record
99.94
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
