I think the Mizzou men will finish top three and will likely qualify for nats. Definitely a hot take, but hear me out. Coach Burns is in his fifth year with the program and has helped facilitate the creation of a team culture that is conducive to winning. No longer are there guys on the team (recruited by previous coaches) who spend more time smoking and drinking than they do training. All the guys seem to be bought in to the program and very committed to one another. Also, they're finally able to get good talent from in state because of this shift in culture. Prior to this shift, there were many high school coaches from the state that didn't want their athletes to even consider Mizzou because of the cancerous culture (partying, drugs, etc.) influenced by the athletes recruited by previous coaches. But it seems to me that Coach Burns (and Coach Smith) have gained the trust of the state and have been able to add a great recruiting class to an already solid roster. I truly believe that if they can stay healthy, they can rival Ole Miss for the runner up spot this year and compete for the title in the coming years.
