Being not from America, I don't fully understand the rules about prize money and eligibility. But if he still has a semester left at college, isn't he not allowed to accept the $15K?

Claim that your travel and stay cost "15k". . .

He’s out of eligibility but is in grad school. He was wearing the singlet but not technically competing for Michigan. It’s also August, so he wouldn’t even be in season anyways had he still had eligibility.

I would wager that Fauble makes US Olympic Team in marathon with Rupp
Do you think Flanagan is a lock to make the marathon team for Canada? After all Fauble is more experienced and has a faster pb for 10k and he just lost for 7 miles.
He doesn't even see himself running the marathon yet. You should just put this speculation to bed.

Awesome! Glad a N. American won this. Breaks the streak of 20+ years of e. Africans winning. Looks like the doping control is catching up to them. A good day!!
Are you really thick enough to believe nobody in North America is doping???
What I think is becoming more common with big name US races is that they're actually becoming cheaper. They're not inviting International runners, not as many elite runners in general. The domestic fields are getting proportionately bigger and races are only inviting international runners based in the US like Sambu. Look at the Falmouth results. Lotta Americans, Canadians, Brits, on the men's side.

Yup.

Has Ben hired an agent? It seems ridiculous that he is not found a sponsor. He needs to strike while the iron is hot. He will never be worth more than he is right now. I understand that he is not American and that his worth is not quite as much but Ben not having a contract is ridiculous.
At least only the tax man will get a bit this time.
And he now has leverage in any signing with an agent. He has history. He is bona fide

He signed with Dan Lilot.

That means no shoe deal for the next 6 months.
Ridiculous hops at the finish:

Why?
Who's the babe?
Dan is too nice of a guy to push a shoe deal. He always has unsigned athletes.
Reebok shoes were worn by Falmouth finishers 1, 5, 7, and 9 (Flanagan, Hehir, Bennie, and Colley).

Ben has already signed with the new Boston Reebok group located in Charlottsville. They are just waiting to make the announcement. Same with Colin Bennie and Martin Hehir. Should be a solid group with Justyn Knight.

I thought the delay was going to be him wanting to stay in Michigan and continue coached by Sully. I think Sully will build an awesome college team, but very few college coaches can manage both college and pros at the same time. I thought Ferlic (also has Lilot as an Agent) would really take off after college, but he seems to have been injured and well off his steeple PR since graduation. Graduates get too comfortable and miss out on better coaching and getting on a more professional calendar.
Reebok rumors are interesting to consider Fox must’ve gotten handed great terms, will Reebok continue with the Zap Fitness group? They’re had success in the roads, but it has sort of been at the American only races where not many studs show up.
Colley has come a long way since injury. Actually pretty remarkable. Pennell was 4th in the Boston Marathon. Other than that, Zap hasn't been particularly impressive.
Ban those cheater shoes I say!! Ban them right now. If they beat VF4%'s then they must be too good to be worn during competition. They have that Pebax foam, same thing as ZoomX. We need to ban them right now. End of discussion.
