My right hamstring is so bad I can’t touch my toes, but I mainly feel it in my knee which makes me think it’s a connector of the two , any advice? So far I have tried kt tape, ice, and they mildly help. I can also run without problem. What should i do?
That tape is a placebo effect. Just rest for a while as hamstring issues will appear healed when it's not. Than you'll pull it again. After you feel it being somewhat healed do some strength training and cross training. Than slowly get back into running. Also, check if there is any imbalances with your stride. For example, when you squat do your knees bend inward? Check stuff like that.
I personally like using tape but that's just me apparently. Cut the intensity. If you do anything at a moderate to hard effort, keep it for hills. I find uphill running gets you a good workout but doesn't aggravate the hamstring like it would at the same "effort" on flat ground. The hamstring and knee are definitely related. Sometimes I have had hamstring pain in one leg that would change to only knee pain and back again.
Thanks for the responses, I had my first race today so I’m guessing part of my soreness is from that. I’m taking a down week this week and racing again Saturday
