I wear running briefs under my running shorts and when it is really hot and I sweat a ton the fabric gets wet and ends up chafing my penis. I've used bodyglide, vaseline, etc. but after about an hour or so I always end up with chafing. Any ideas?

I've had this many times to the point where it looks like I'm a female on her period. Anyways the main thing is to position the wiener in a way in the shorts so that the wiener is facing down.

I do that, but it still hits the head of the penis quite a bit.

The briefs I wear are pretty tight in that area, but I'll look into it.

I've only had this issue one time, and it was bad, bloody and dried to the liner by the time the run was done.
I never ran in those shorts again.

I apply a layer of Bodyglide and then top that off with a liberal amount of Vaseline. It does not work perfectly, but I tell myself I am cutting down on the damage. After a painful post-run shower, I apply Aquaphor.
One time I did a 2 hour long run on the treadmill(covered 30k in those 2 hours, so I was moving). Anyways I knew I was in trouble when I started feeling a stinging pain down their. By time I finished, my crotch was covered in blood. That was a really painful shower.
Try putting a small dab of a non water soluble vaseline-like substance on the back of a small strip of athletic tape no longer than one loop around your d-head. Then very lightly wrap it tight enough so it doesnt come undone but nothing too restrictive. Prevents head burn on longer runs. Otherwise you get a huge stinger in the shower
Triple layers. Shorts over briefs over "panties" over aquaphor lubed junk.

Are you sure it's the running causing the chafing? #fap.
Do you still have the liner in the shorts? Cut it out and just wear the running briefs. Find running briefs that fit well with no bouncing or movement. I routinely cut out the liner when I buy new running shorts and just wear running briefs under them. I've been doing this for 10 years. In summer, I wear a lightweight, bikini-type or normal brief (briefs with no legs). In winter, I wear high tech boxer briefs with 2" to 8" legs under longer shorts. You'd be amazed at how much warmer a boxer brief is than the typical shorts liner. I really hate liners.
A good bikini-type running brief is hard to find. I like the Asics ASX line. I've found a couple of other brands that are acceptable, but it's hit or miss to find a good fit.
