Since mid-April I've had quite a bit of pain throughout the top of my left foot. It comes and goes, and I can't always identify exactly where it is in the foot, as it often switches location and comes up in different areas (although generally it's always somewhere along the top). My coach had me switch from a heel to midfoot strike around that time, so that was probably the main cause, but even though i gave it significant rest at the end of track season, it still came back. A few days ago I had a foot measurement scan done at a local running store, which showed that my left instep is way higher than my right, which coupled with the increased pressure from the different foot strike has probably prevented it from getting better. But then, the same day i started to notice a twinge of pain in my right foot as well, which has become steadily worse over the past few days. I was still able to run today, as the pain pretty much goes away while running, but just walking around on it is near impossible. The right foot feels much worse than the left now, but I still can't identify a specific pain area, although it's a bit worse above the highest part of my arch. I'm just so frustrated with this. Does anyone have any idea what it could be or what I could do to help it? I've been doing around 45-50 miles a week in prep over the summer for sophomore year of cross country, and I don't want my season to be miserable with these annoying foot pains.
