Probably closer to 2.
I see what you did there ?. But you are likely correct.

Honestly think Henrik let him have that one. Looked like he had more to give at the end
No, just no.
Henrik almost fell 3 laps from the end. In interview (live on Nrk right now) Henrik says that that incident caused som acid in his legs and he needed the next 1-1,5 laps to recouperate. Had that not happened, who knows, but looked like Jakob had more left again.
Hopefully he keeps his form and will run in a top field in the 5k later this fall. Don't think he'll come close to a sub-13, but he might very well run sub-13.10 and might even have a decent shot at the Norwegian Record (13.06.39)
Awesome M 4 X 400 with Spain way out in front most all the way until Borleeland (o.w. known as Belgium) overtook in the homestretch. Top 3 teams 3 flat or under.
In interview with Finnish tv Henrik said that he had recovered well from yesterday and actually felt almost better today. He also said about Jakob that there's no one like him, but emphasised that Jakob has trained like a pro for ten years already (or possibly since he was ten years old, I'm not entirely sure).
Wowzer, what a talent. That's a world class last lap in any race. This kod just instinctly knows how to turn the screw at the end of a race for the best finish.

13:17 but the point stands. Has to be close to sub-13 shape.
That makes way more sense. a 54-flat close in a Championship-style 13:07 might make him the best in the world this year.
13:17...did you not read the post you responded to? He is absolutely not the best in the world at any event right now. Chelimo and Kejelcha would whoop him in a 5k (Chelimo ran 13:03 in Rio with a 52 last 400).

You obviously don't read very well do you? The poster was saying:
"[13:17] makes more sense. [If he had run] a 54-flat close in a Championship-style 13:07 [race, that] might make him the best in the world this year."
I call it a toss up. This kid was on tired legs. There are about a dozen guys capable of 13 right now and he is one.

Results say time is 13:17.06. Doesn't change how impressive it is though.
A 10 second difference kinda does change how impressive it is. No knocking it - awesome result for the kid. But it is absurd to say that a 10 second time difference is irrelevant as to how impressive it is.
Just sayin' it wrote:

not as absurd as your post.

Good thing these guys are Norwegian or I'd think they're DOPED TO THE GILLS!!!
Check Norway's history in XC Skiing.
HGBs got in the 19g/dl! Both men and women!
Check this:
http://velorooms.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=4987.0;attach=3805;imageNorway is said to have better wax, but wax doesn't boost your blood levels.
Petar Vukicevic, ski coach of his children was cleared of doping charges only because the evidence was too old. (Remember the pivotal moment in the Armstrong case when they fought over the staute of limitations? The case only continued because the investigators went for conspiracy charges, otherwise he also would have been cleared like Petar)(In this case, emails detailing drug use were turned over to Norway's anti-doping agency; he said they were faked, agency decided they were real but could not be acted on for suspension but was still fired/dismissed from his relationship with the federation)
Erik Tysse is a Norwegian speed walker popped for EPO.
Norway Hero (40 year old Olympic Champion) Einar Björndalen missed a drug test and is known for his keeping his training
secret from competitors and teammates alike.
How often get American HS runners tested.
Are they tested at all?
After what I know, USA high schools are a paradise for doping.
So I guess we all can say that all USA runners are dopers then.

Now you're getting it: no country should be immune from suspicion.
Not even the hipster white dudes in Norway.
You're grasping. First of Petar is not a ski coach, he is a track and field coach (I know you'll love that, but facts are facts) for his kids.
Bjørndalen is nothing. He is not known for keeping is training secret, its all out there in the news and documentaries, and he always invites the national team to come train like him. Never seen an athlete so professional in my entire life. Basically pushed the norwegian national team and other athletes to be fare more professional, set a new standard.
Norways anti-doping system is one of the best in the world. They have the funds to test far more than most nations.
Regarding wax for skies, Norway is truly "financially doping" to get ahead in cross country skiing. But, cross country skiing is not a big sport in many nations other than Norway. Even Sweden isn't nearly as obsessed. You can see how terrible Norway are in football..
Kid is now the legit junior WR holder in the 1500 and 5000. Hugely impressive. I wanna see him rip a 1:44 in the 800.
Since the testing is so bad for HS in the USA I just have to assume all medals won by Americans are a result of doping at young age.
Like you said, no country is immune. Especially not when you can have 100% in HS with no testing like in the USA.

That's not exactly news.
