Looks like Instagram is back up. 5 mile run at 7min pace which might be believable if the posted GPS map didn’t flatline. That could happen if you lost the satellite connection but it could also happen if you turn your watch off for a while in the middle of a run and then turn it back on again. I hope it was the former and we see some legitimate race times in the fall.
I don't have a link, but apparently (although I didn't see it) she logged GPX data (which can easily be spliced from someone else's run). The RDs are in a tough spot, unless someone is caught by an official and they provide semi- legit data, they have to believe these people. Ultra running is a sport that largely relies on good faith, or has in the past. I think in the future we will start seeing more accountability, but it is too much to ask an RD to make the decision to DQ a fat girl...

I thought the same! The course in Scotland will be technically challenging, most likely in foul weather. I have a marathon PR of 2:52 and would struggle to avoid embarassing myself on that kind of course, it's hardcore!
Maude would have stood no chance, in fact she could have hurt herself. Trying to take a short cut on a misty mountainside could end in tradegy.
She would have pulled out with an 'injury' or sickness, or more likely would have not run because of some noble moral reason.

there is a lot of cheating in the sport unfortunately. some women have been cutting course, skipping sections of races and splicing in someone else's GPX data on strava for years. I witnessed a woman cheat at Wasatch a few years ago - brazenly cutting out a huge portion of the course while I was crewing. Then I saw her on the podium in 3rd place at the finish. She had to be 50 lbs overweight. Last year I was pacing at IMTUF and the same woman won! Hopefully someone will figure it out and justice given to the other women who can actually run.
Who was it that cheated at Wasatch? Tough course to cheat on.

I think the guy who posted this passive aggressive cheat insinuation is wrong and mistook someone. He named names in fact because it isn't hard to find out who finished 3rd! He was questioned for details, and didn't reply. No one is patching together files on Strava. It'd be too hard.
Ultra athletes can look larger especially in not so deep ultras. Ultras aren't very competitive. We're talking 12 min/mile pace to podium in some cases. It's hardly running.
False other story IMO wrote:

Well buddy if it "isn't hard," I'm sure you can tell me who came in third at Wasatch "a few years ago."

Let it go. She was caught. She’s been disqualified from several races. Denying it now doesn’t help anyone. In looking at past cheaters, apologizing and moving on is the only positive path to choose to get past this, especially at her age with her whole life ahead of her. Denials and attacks only make it worse.
She's actually admitted it. Though she only mentions one indiscretion rather than the multiple DQs and appears to minimise the extent of her cheating, I suppose a damage limitation exercise of sorts.
I just hope she stops disrupting races with her antics, it ruins it for all concerned.
I would hit that :) lol just saying she hot but yeah cheaters suck
He also said she won IMTUF last year. Just look at the results for IMTUF from 2017 to see who the first place female was. However, I ran Wasatch last year and also live in the area so I train on those trails regularly. I really don’t know where you could cut off a “big chunk” without getting a ride. It is a point to point course - no out and backs, no loops. Also, they check you in and out of each aid station so if she did manage to cut the course she still would have had to make it through every aid station. I’m calling BS on the cheating at Wasatch claim.
