So this thread is going to kind of copy TNEs style of thread as long as I remember to update it.
I am a Junior in high school currently and I’ll take you through my next two years. It’ll be interesting to say the least.
Freshman-Sophomore PR progression
400 - 59(10x400 rep)-56.3(split)
800 - 2:03-2:00
1600 - 4:35-4:34
3200 - 10:29-10:06 (only raced once prob could’ve gone faster)
5k - 17:12-15:48
So going into freshman year I did no summer training and occasional practices throughout the season, and for sophomore year I did around 25-30 miles maxing at 35 in the season. I want to keep the improvement in my junior and senior year and maybe I can go somewhere with this whole running thing. Here are my junior year goals.
800 - 1:56
1600 - 4:20
3200 - 9:35
5k - 15:10
My summer training has been very inconsistent as for the past few weeks I’ve been experimenting with a long run, currently I had to get my face stitched up so I can’t practice this week and it was supposed to be my highest mileage. I’ve got a pretty good coach with a set program so I don’t want to just abandon it. So yeah I will visit this thread to post training and thoughts I have while I’m going through this xc season
