Throughout the summer, I've had a hard time getting a good night's sleep in (always feeling groggy waking up), been tired all the time, and last week, I increased the mileage from high 30s to 45 mpw. This week I've been feeling terrible while running, having to stop and walk, feeling short of breath...it's been bad. I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle the workouts for XC when I'm feeling like this during base training. I think it could be stress, but I'm not sure. If it is, what can I do to feel better? My goal is to make it to state (usually 16:30s-16:40s) this season, before last XC season, I didn't run as much but the season went okay (not great). Should I take xc off to train for track or run xc to see what happens? Is my goal reasonable? What can I do to feel better during training?
