If the Ingebrigtsens work together I think Jakob and Filip are 1-2. I actually think we will see Jakob beat Filip and Henrik will be the workhorse. Dad's orders. As awesome as Jakobs 3:31 was, I actually think he can run faster and I think he can beat Filip and just has more upside and potential to improve.
If the race is a slow tactical affair with a leisurely opening 700-800 then it is harder to call. I still would put the 2 Ingebrigtsens in the running but in that type of race so much will come down to positioning that it's more unpredictable. My pick in the slow tactical race is Lewandowski simply because he races those sorts of races intelligently.
Well - I split it! Jakob won and Lewandowski took 2nd.
Lewandowski showed again how he runs smartly and kicks hard in championships.
Well done Jakob. Sorta curious race though. Why did no-one else run better?!
RUNS SMARTLY?? He thre that AWAY!!
Wow! The elder Ingebrigtsens put Jakob out to slaughter with two laps to go by allowing him to take the lead, but he held off a hard charging Lewandowski to claim the victory! This kid has an incredible feel for racing.
Marcin Lewandoski was in basically last place for most of the race, gets into about 8th with 100 to go and mows down the field to get 2nd by half a meter. very good run from him, although it will obviously be overshadowed by Jacob

No terrible from Lewandoski. HE THREW IT AWAY!!
I actually thought they were using Jacob as a rabbit with 2 laps to go
and Jake Wightman was 3rd I guess somebody should mention, with another Ingebrigtsen 4th

No it wasn't, given Wightman and O'Hare are both Scottish NOT English...
Great race though!
Relatively slow, classic EC 15 final pace...overall very similar to the 1990 race won by J-P Herold in the same time as this one. Same intermediate also. 2"00 at 800. Windup just before 1200, Jakob at the front at least he had the balls to do this. Lewandowski came hard at him down the stretch and the other Ingebrigtsens did not have it. Wightman a good finish for 3rd.
1. Jakob 3:38.10
2. Lewandowski 3:38.14
3. Wightman 3:38.25

Great finish by Lewandowski, but guys like Centro and Jakob show the importance of strategy. You can't just hope to hang back and mow everyone down if you want to win.

Agree! He was 8th 100 to go because was too closed to be closer. I was hoping he was going to be closer to the front 400m to go since that before the last lap was only in 57".

Wasn’t the smartest strategy. Did the guys with the fast PRs think they could beat fast finishers like Lewadowski in a slow race? Exciting to race nevertheless.
Have you banned Coevett yet?
