I’ve never been but always got the feeling (and heard) it was marginal pizza with a running atmosphere. It that the case?

Eugene is full of knowledgeable pizza fans and track fans. that is why Eugene is also known as pizzatown usa.

That's a pretty fair assessment.
I was there for the first time in June for NCAA's. It was fun being in there with athletes from all over the country. I would imagine it is a really cool place to be during Trials week. But yeah, the pizza was pretty meh.
We love it. I'd say it's expensive if you are used to Domino's prices but we go there all the time.
I enjoyed the pizza the two times I went there for the state track meet
When I was in high school, we went as a team. Pizza was pretty average, but the atmosphere was neat. Snuck onto Hayward the next day and did a workout. Everyone was turtling the whole workout because of the pizza. One kid had it so bad he pooped in a trash can somewhere under the grandstands. Good times.
Yeah it's good, real good.
I agree with everyone here, the pizza is nothing special, kind of bland, but the place has a pretty cool atmosphere.
In the context of the west coast, it is good. It is as good as a median place in an east coast city- nothing special- but that is a rarely achieved standard on the west coast in general.
Oregon Moving Wood Fire Pizza Truck some sort of a food truck with a semi-permanent location during the week and parked outside different bars on the weekend has been mentioned as better than most other joints. I have no knowledge- just mentions from people I do not really know.
There was a 100 best pizza thread from a big circulation blogger website up with-in the last 2 months that got a number of replies but do not remember if Eugene was mentioned.

This has got to be a joke, you can't be serious? Track town pizza is the kind of pizza you buy only when you're drunk.
Great atmosphere, and pretty good pies. Go with the pepperoni and jalapeño. Sure, there are better pizza places around, but this is kind of an icon by now. Have been going now for 20+ years.

What do you pay for good 18" pizza Margherita in a silverware restaurant with table service and full bar?
Not a by the slice joint with some tables that gives you plastic when you pick up the food at the counter?
My area of Queens NY coal or wood fired oven $19-21
Bari gas oven for 15-17

At least 40 years.
Outside of New Haven, CT. There is no real pizza

+1
Pizza in Oregon, in general, isn't that great. Track Town is fine. It's cool because you're near campus and how many food places have track memorabilia on their walls. There is definitely better pizza to be had in Eugene -- Oregon Wood Fired Pizza (bonus it sits at Oakshire), PRI, Bartolotti's. I would even take Sy's NY or Mezza Luna over Track Town, but it's still not a bad option. Not that that should be the standard.
Track Town pizza is average at best...cannot compare with virtually an NYC pizza, such as John’s on Bleecker or Ray’s Original and many others.
The pizza is average, but if you get one of their pizzas with 5 toppings it just isn't good at all. they load the toppings on to where I barely consider it pizza. Getting a 1 or at most a 2 topping is the way to go.
Pizza isn’t really that great but the atmosphere is really cool. It’s great seeing photos and other running memerobilia on the wall opposed to the normal stuff you would see on the walls at a bar/pizza restaurant. I would definitely go back just for that.

Open the yelp app (assuming you have it). Enter in Eugene OR for location, then track town pizza for te search. Voila, now you have reviews and color pictures. The pizza looks like typical northern white person pizza with mixed toppings. Like a Casey’s pizza for fun loving college kids. No Italian American masterpieces here, sorry.
