You're certainly proof of this.

Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Having personally had things said to me that were harsh and hard to hear at the time, I understood that they were an attempt to get me to make changes for the better and never took anything as a personal attack. If anything has been a personal attack I still haven't let anything cause me so much damage that I try to remove multiple people from their livelihood or had nervous breakdowns.
You're welcome to view strength as allowing words to damage you to the breaking point but 'taking action' after you've already left (and been gone for several years) the immediate company of your 'abuser' and who no longer poses any 'threat' to your mental well-being. Sure. You can view that as strength.
As I am likewise entitled to view strength as being able to cope with hearing words and recognizing them as such. Then either determining if they're meant to motivate me (in which case adapt) or hurt me for no reason other than malice (in which case ignore and move on).
To each his own. Pretty tired of having the same circular argument over and over here. Though I don't think it's a good idea to let the weakest set the precedent in any situation, it seems to be the way the wind is blowing. In a hundred years athletes will be pushing to have their coach fired for not doing a good enough job wiping their bottoms for them. Thanks effing Christ I'll be dead by then.
Weak.

That was like, deep, man.
