Multiple Sources at Iowa State University confirm that Coach Andrea resigned from her post as head women's cross country coach to take up vacancy at UNC to lead both the men's and women's distance program. North Carolina has had the position vacant since Mark Vanalstyne was let go at the end of the track season.
This hire will guarantee to shake up the ACC and the Southeast Region for years to come. With all of the coaching changes in the Atlantic conference this summer, Coach Andrea is poised to be one of the strongest forces to reckon with come this fall. She will have to take a program that finished 11th on both men and women side last year to ACC out of the rumble but her recruiting ferocity and history of success could make for a speedy turn around.
For the women at Iowa State, they have been a considerable power in the Big 12 and Midwest region.Coach Andrea will be leaving behind some stellar athletes for Chapel Hill. Best of luck to her.
