Ya'll realize that OU already had 4 international women on their distance squad last year right?
The new coach will fit in just fine to what Robert wants.

As a fan of Oregon running, I felt losing the Powells would be a huge blow to the program but with this hire along with Ben Thomas, the new duo could be arguably an upgrade. Hoping they develop good chemistry in the coming years.
Lehman-Winters is a great hire for Oregon. I don't know who Thomas is but having them work together for both teams could be a recipe for disaster. Lehman-Winters should either be head coach for all distance or else coach only the women so there's no clash between them.

Great hire, great move for Robert and Oregon. Helen was handing Oregon their a$$ at USF at West Regionals and just couldnt quite makeup for it due to an uneven playing field at Nationals. Now that she is at a powerhouse school, the tables have turned in a big way. If I was Washington I would be on red alert, as Oregon just got a Nuke and is LOOOKING TO BLAST one off over Washington. Head into the bomb shelter Centrowitz and the powells, there is stealth bomber named the S.S. Lehman Winters coming over washington and its packing dirty bombs.
Lets just be clear: the great state of Washington has far greater nuclear and military assets in its domain than the "Beaver State." But I'd love to see a strong/legitimate UW/UO rivalry foster!

Liberals run amok again!
Thanks for schooling me. I understand that USF has a situation that might make it difficult to attract the best domestic recruits and the international recruits were their best option to build the program. What the coach did at USF was very impressive. U of O has reloaded in the coaching department.

The problem is that you refer to the male coach by last name but the female coach by first name.

Liberal babble! Isn’t there some ICE protest you need to be at right now?

4 foreign athletes is not a big deal when you're rostering 20 plus athletes. Look at USF's roster from last season. Almost 90% were foreign. Now that she's with a powerhouse program let's see if she validates how good a coach she is with younger superstar domestic athletes.
How many Oregon kids will be heading up the road to join the Powell’s??
Great hire? Really? She’s a cheater and a scumbag. Multiple times over the last few years she’s been called out for having men pace women to qualifiers, including two of her 10k regional qualifiers this year - who only qualified in a race where they were paced by men. That race shouldn’t have counted either since USF was the only team in it. But the NCAA is trash and fails to enforce their own rules.
I’m sure she can coach, but you’re not getting any character points with this hire. Hard pass.

then she'll fit right in with Oregon, their women's team broke the uniform rule at NCAA's by having athletes wearing two different colors of shorts. They got away with it tooo.

Do you think it will be a romantic chemistry like the Powells had?

As we all know Roberts job is judged on winning not on the number of Americans he has on the team.
He has scholarship money to balance to get the most for the buck and if foreign athletes give thats were he will spend it.

Having foreign athletes is ok. Just not 90% of your roster. 20%-30% is acceptable without cutting out domestic talent. There's plenty of young talented domestic runners to pull from. If you can't "Coach Up" a B+ talented runner to an A you're clearly not a good coach. Roberts needs to be careful not to alienate domestic talent for foreign talent. UO has a strong distance running tradition with domestic athletes and if that becomes jeopardized Roberts will hear it from the UO faithful and so will HLW.
Don't worry BUTTHOLE, I think these championship coaches have everything under control.
The Ducks now have three ASSOCIATE HEAD COACHES, including the two new XC and distance coaches. That is a slap in the face to the throws and jump coaches who have been on staff.

They get to be a part of the team and should count their blessings.
Definitely not a good hire, Helen embodies everything wrong with distance coaching.
Encouraging eating disorders, lying to her athletes about their medical results (no joke, lied to an athlete about an MRI result looking for a stress fracture and made her train on it instead), ignoring most of the roster for a handful, poor development of talent, recruiting older runners instead of developing talent, I could go on.
Hate to see someone of her ethics being rewarded.

WHAT? Are you saying that she had an athlete take an MRI and when the test showed a positive result (stress fracture or reaction) she hid that info from the athlete? Because that would be insane. No way this happened.
