After stalking this thread and a few others for the past few weeks, I've decided to jump in.
Goal: sub 2:30 @ Chicago (most likely not going to happen as I didn't get into the ADP and the only option is the $1,500 charity route). **If anyone knows another way to get in or would like to donate if I go through the charity route, it would be greatly appreciated!! Just in case, Twin Cities will be my backup to not have to adjust the training, although, I’m not a fan of running this course.

M: 2-mile w/u, 4x1mile @ MP w/1min rest, 3min rest b/w set, 3x1mile w/1min rest, 3-mile c/d. 5:39, 5:41, 5:41,5:42, 3min rest, 5;40, 5:43, 5: 49. Total – 12 miles
T: 12 miles @ 6:56 pace
W: am: 5 miles easy; pm: 10 miles @ 7:04 pace. Total – 15 miles
Th: 2-mile w/up, 10x1K w/1:45 rest @ 10K pace (~3:20). Opted to 8x1K midway. 3:20, 3:19, 3:21, 3:21, 3:22, 3:22, 3:23, 3:23. 3-mile c/d. Total – 10 miles

S: 18 miles @ 6:38 pace
Su: 8 miles (unsure of pace, watch didn’t save the run for the next few days).

Th: REST DAY (1st day of no running in over 2 months)

S: 22 miles @ 6:45 pace (I had planned to do 3x3miles somewhere in the long run, but I started the run at 7:00am and by mile 9, I was cooking from the sun)

M: 3-mile w/u, 400m, 800m, 1200m, 1600m, 1200m, 800m, 400m @ 5K pace (~5:00) w/1:15, 1:45, 2:15, and 2:45 rest through 1600m and then back down) + 3:45 rest after the last 400m into 1-mile tempo + 3:45 rest, 8x200m striders w/1:15 rest, 3-mile c/d. 1:15, 2:30, 3:46, 5:02, 3:46, 2:30, 1:13 / tempo: 5:28 / 35, 34, 35, 35, 34, 34, 34, 34. Total – 12 miles

So, this is all I’ve got! If anyone see any bad patterns in the training or something that is lacking, please point it out and let me know! I’ve used Smoove’s training cycle for workout ideas, but I’m not following it entirely and I’m sure I’m not doing everything perfectly on my own. Let me know if you think sub 2:30 looks possible from this.
