That is typical Letsrun procedure, yes.

Nope, Hassan peaking right in time.
Muir's schedule was... no schedule for this summer, I think.
Plus the obvious afro haircut advantage (Vashti Cunningham understood it).
Lets go TIGER

Anything is possible, but I doubt it. Instead, I think she is still figuring out how to race well. As in Rio, she went out too fast early (this time, in the first lap!) and paid for it at the end. Hassan, on the other hand, ran pretty much a perfect race.
PS Is anyone else finally getting used to Hassan's new hair-do? It sure makes it easier to keep track of her.
I was at church. Just got back and saw Korir's race.
Can we admit I"m a genius now? Here is what I wrote in the preview.
RJ Addition: I’m such a big fan of Korir. Him becoming the 6th person to run 1:41 wouldn’t totally shock me. We’ve never had a guy this good at 400 run the 800.
Tim Hutchings was barely talking about Korir then thankfully the other commentator (is that Stone?) started talking about how Korir was being hyped on the messageboards. No, it's on the editorial side of things.
When the Monaco race ended, my first thought was, "Damn I wish Korir was in this one." He's a stud.

No. He didn’t run 1:41. But you can have a genius IOU.

Korir barely missed running 1:41 while training for 400m! That should scare anyone who knows something about running and training. The reason Amos was entered and did run in London(after running 1:42.14 in Monaco) is because, just like most of us out here, he thought since Korir is so fast in the 400m and has only run 1:45 and rarely raced 800m this season, he wasn't going to handle a blistering pace to the end. How he (and we) was wrong! If Korir backs down a little on 400m training and be in 45.5, Rudisha's World Record will be history. I say right here and BOLDLY that Korir will run 1:40.5 before his career is over. As for Amos, he will never run faster than his PB from 2012. I know that sounds stupid especially after he ran 1:42.14 the other day. But trust me, that will remain his second fastest time ever. Wycliff Kimanyal and Murphy surprised me with their great run. Kudos to them!
Moving forward, I hope my friend Ereng has arranged for Korir to attack the World Record in Rieti. He can recruit Michael Saruni or Ferguson Rotich to help push Korir through 600m in around 1:15. Korir is fast and could split a sub 26 in the last 200m.

Go back to school.
Korir is a spectacular talent, to run a full second faster won't be easy. Wycliff Kinyamal still seems very raw and needs a bit more polishing. Why did Michael Saruni scratch, by the way?
1:42.05 doesn’t mean 1:40.91. You can’t extrapolate data that far.
Good day for the US 1500/milers:
Centro FTW & Jenny runs 4:17, very close to the AR. Kate Grace a little back in 4:20.
Pacing can be terrible but Brenda Martinez clicked off back to back 63's perfectly in the women's mile.

Better than Slaneys Indoor USA mark of 4:17.55 only the AR 4:16.71 is quicker

WAIT - Sam Kendricks hasn't used his poles in practice this season? So what is he using in practice?
Am I the only one who's noticed that a lot of the female throwers - especially in javelin and discus - are getting slimmer?
Maybe you are becoming less broad minded?

Pacing is Brenda's best role. That way, she will stay clear of other runners and not cause any falls.

Agreed. If I was a race organizer and was able to put a quality field together, I would never invite Martinez (other than as a pacer)
Not sure what you referring to my broda. But in case I am getting your point, 1:41.99 is 1:41 and he barely missed that mark. In Monaco, the competition was watered down to pave way for Amos to concentrate on running a fast time. Explains why Michael Saruni was scratched. Also Ferguson Rotich (who was a threat to Amos since he had outkicked him a few days ago) was forced to run 1500m instead! Korir's time on the other hand was achieved in REAL competition. Everyone was there but there was nothing they(including Amos) could do to stop him! Amos ran 1:42.14 and Korir is at least a second faster than Amos which means he can run at least 1:41.14 in a good race!
Korir's head movement down the home stretch reminds me of Paula.
Centrowitz had absolutely zero tension in his face as he finished (fast forward to 2:07):
Tiger update is?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
