Doping, such a hot button topic in running..from EPO to external test usage to a damn inhaler..
Back in college during my football days I remember a brand of Muscle Milk was flagged by NCAA for PEDs due to some blend of ingredients for the life of me I can't remember, but I do vividly recall our athletic trainer coming into the weight room to let us know some of the recent changes and a lot of us were stunned, "Wait, this is a protein shake we're taking from GNC?!" There were some shadesters using DBol and Winni V at the time, I stayed far away from that nonsense, and truthfully while they looked the part, it didn't add up to any drastic performance enhancing benefits that most automatically assume takes place. In fact, one was a friend of mine who said it was the biggest mistake of his life. His acne and liver enzymes were out of whack for almost a year following 2 cycles. Going back to the Muscle Milk flagged by the NCAA, I am almost sure that edition is no longer on the market and this was during the whole Barry Bonds witch hunt of the mid-late 2000s. Had I been drug tested by the NCAA, I'd been flagged for PEDs, over a protein shake.
So, finally to the topic..a certain somebody stomps there feet quite regularly in regards to Doping on these boards and social media to the point where it's like, "..really?" I can't help but think that because there has been some recent records broken and elite prowess we haven't seen in sport, that some jump on the "PED" ban wagon as an automatic assumption. I've said this under crazy, funny aliases in the past and I stand by it because I've seen it first hand from a wide range of athletes, just because one takes a supplement in hopes to drastically increase performance, doesn't always happen. Injuries, and ill side effects likely interfere before any performance increases take place. That's the side of it that the media and some overly biased personalities don't account for.
End rant. Any other PED stories out there, please share.
