My training partner (M63) has just started checking his HR and BP after running. He said he felt a pop in his right temple/side of forehead a few weeks ago in a 5k. Anyway, his max HR is 193 (nothing too unusual there. I'm older and sometimes hit 186), but his blood pressure is 180/70 after a hard interval.
I've never taken my BP at the track after an interval. I don't know what's too high, but that sounds scary high to me.
I suggested that he might want to take a max heart rate treadmill stress test, but my wife suggested he start with his general physician.
What would you recommend?
