Been doing a lot of reading recently on training ideas.
Whether it be looking at training posts on letsrun that have good discussion, looking at training ideas of lydiard, daniels, magnes, Wetmore, SOM and have come to some realizations and questions to follow this up
There is no one universal training plan. Some prosper on high mileage, others low, singles vs. doubles, V02 max workouts or not, long runs hard or slow, and so forth.
Obviously there are a lot of ways to approach training for distance events and I think that each individual has a best training for them. Part of it is goals. Lydiard had a once a year peak and Wetmore adapted the theory there to a 3 peak a year system that fits better for collegiate success.
Basically trying to look into training discussion on how can you best find the style of training that works for you
