I am looking to buy one to help speed up my recovery from a stress fracture in my tibia. Any suggestions on a machine? I am not looking to spend under 150 and will most likely buy used from eBay. I've read about the Exogen 4000, anyone use this?

Take some vitamin D tablets.
Send me the $150 and I'll pray to the god of choice for you.
Just as effective.
Exogen cost thousands , got one from workmans comp, use it everyday for 20 min and my fracture is a non union when I broke it and a non union two years later, good luck.

Talk to your doctor and see if you can get it prescribed so insurance will pay for it. I believe the Exogen is the good one, but I can't quite recall.
Of any bone growth stimulator, Exogen is the most promising (based on research data). Do NOT, however, buy it on Ebay. They only have a certain number of treatment and a lot of people will sell you a dead or nearly dead one. Or, apparently there's a way to make it seem like it still works but it actually doesn't. Only way I'd do it is if I got it through the company itself (or a friend who only used a certain number of treatments).
A friend gave us theirs that they were no longer using thinking it would work but didn't realize all the treatments were used. We tried to find a way to reset it to no avail and because it was not prescribed to the person in our family who wanted to use it, the company rep would not reset it. We were told we would have to have it prescribed and then insurance may pick up some of the tab.
