I am going to be a junior this coming school year and am currently not taking part in summer track. I was wondering if this goal is attainable and what kind of training plan I should take part in during the summer/off-season in order to help me reach this goal. My best time for the 400m as a sophomore was 1:00.46 seconds. I was disappointed last year because of the fact that my best time as a freshman was 1:01.66 seconds and I dropped only one second off of it. However, this past year my coaches wanted me to focus on the 800m, so I took part in less sprint workouts. I feel like this may have hurt my 400m time. In addition, my best time for the 800m is a 2:26, so I feel that I should focus more on the 400m. Overall, is this goal possible?
