Who's going to take the bait?
Who's going to take the bait?
I'm not racing in any shoe that is 9oz.
Yeah, not sure who they're going after with this one. I guess in my mind, I put this with the Saucony Kinvara - a lighter weight, semi-everyday shoe for tempos / speedwork and maybe the occasional non-competitive race. Or for people with too much money who are too impatient waiting or the next Vaporfly 4% release :)

Unless I can get a good deal on them probably won't pick them up since the rumored price is ~$160
It's a daily training shoe. If the ZoomX performs anything like it does in the 4% this is a strong buy at anything under $220. I'll be buying next Thursday.

The Kinvara 9 reduced its weight and added a hardened rubber onto the outsole of the shoe. Back now under 8oz too.
Still wish it had more rubber lugs on the outsole to prevent breakdown of the soft Eva. I just ran down that soft sole
It's going to be $180. Reviews at roadtrailrun and runners world this morning. Looks too much like a bowling shoe to me. Doesn't seem worth it TBH.
According to the article the weight of a men's size 10 is 8.4 oz - not that heavy really, similar to the Adios Boost 3.
And to answer your question - of course all of these Nike fanbois who think the Vaporflys have anything to do with running faster will for sure be buying these as well. Nike knows they have a great thing going with the marketing of "ZoomX foam" - expect to see it in more shoes going forward....

Thumbs up!

Thanks for clarifying. I’ve been thinking what kind of abominable shoe these thing look like.
My vote: Won’t buy.
Why not just buy a pair of Zoom Flys then? They weigh 8.4oz at size 9, have ZoomX foam, and runningwarehouse has some for less than $120.

Zoom Fly has Lunarlon, which is why it sucks. This is the second wide shoe released with ZoomX (Vaporfly 4% being the first.)
I think the Zoom Fly has Lunarlon encasing React, but they supposedly didn't have React developed enough to market it when Zoom Fly was released.

Durability. Outsole is thicker on the Peg Turbo than the ZF and VF.
They've added a lot of cushioning to the Pegasus in recent years, maybe this is the pushback alternative? If I liked the Pegasus N but not the N+5, maybe this will be better for me?

They've added cushioning? The pegasus 29 and 30 were way softer and had much much more cushioning. Since the 31 they've changed it to have much harder (more reactive) foam and made the foam thinner. If anything, the trend with the pegasus has been to make it less bulky.
What would be a good marathon shoe in the Nike family. I used the elite 9 for some time and it felt fine. 140lb. Thin build
Should I stick with elite 9
Go elite 10
Pegasus
I have a marathon Aug 12 I'm going for Boston in. I have a 3:15 PR need to be 3:05 (really 3:01)
I wasn't going to buy a pair, but out of curiosity, I checked 10 minutes after I got the Nike text that they had launched. Completely sold out of most sizes.
I wonder if they will be more available when the official release happens in August.
no way jose! wrote:

^This. Peg 29 and 30 was more like today´s Vomero.
