I've had these 2 shorts for about 5 years.
They're made from nylon and a blend of something else, and before, I used to clean them by taking them with me in the shower. However, life has gotten in the way and I just toss them in the hamper with dirty clothes, put them in the washer and then dry them. My Adidas socks are all shrunk too.
I'm not in the prime of my running anymore, and I don't buy new running shoes either - I just replace the insoles. I now understand how runners have pairs of shoes with 500, 600, or 800 miles on each of them.
I look like I'm running in underwear because they are comically tight. But then I realize it's like a double standard. I shouldn't be embarrassed or ashamed of my body, but it feels wrong.
These shorts are the first ones I used when I trained for and ran marathons in. Do I retire them and use them as underwear? Are they memorabilia now just like the participation medals I received?
I didn't run in college, but I did join the club. I'd throw away my marathon medals and 5k shirts rather than throw away these shorts.
Is it creepy to keep these shorts even though I never plan on running with them again?
