That was an impressive race. George and Jakob have awful tactics—George was boxed for 1450 meters, and Jakob ran about 1520–but luckily they’re both incredible runners.

What a run from Manangoi for the win, and great performance from the Norwegian phenom for second.
And all you nutcase racists complaining about age cheats, hush up for a moment. Manangoi won fair and square, let him have this without your nattering.
El Keniano, where you watching this? Been trying to get free livestream with no success. And Manangoi was the dark horse in my selection!
What happened to the Ethiopian world indoor champion?

The youtube stream is stalling on my laptop so just listening to the radio broadcast, better than nowt.

Ujanja, bro. I'm using a VPN to stream it because Kwesé sports bought the Kenyan rights so it's not on DSTV Supersport (injustice).
I think Soget is the more talented distance runner as seen in his times, but George is a much more intelligent racer. Also, George, like his Elijah, has the kick that Soget seems to lack. It's almost like Elijah vs Tim Cheruiyot all over again.

Last lap of mid-53 or better from both of them, impressive given both their questionable tactics, but this could turn into an epic rivalry. What happened to Soget and especially Tefera?
I think Jakob is also running the 5000m, if it comes down to a kick he could medal there as well.
The race went out slow, perhaps Tefera is not as great at kicking.

Definitely a great kick for both of them. Jakob closed in sub-1:50 as well, which I think is a personal best for him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he did very well in the 5000 regardless of whether it’s a fast or slow race. His best event appears to be the 3000 steeplechase right now, so I’d believe he can handle 13:15 pace if it comes to it, and have a fine kick at the finish.
In pretty much all of his races, Jakob has proved that his hype is justified. Likewise for George Manangoi. The Manangoi family holds the U18, U20, and world championship titles right now!

This is correct. I'm pretty sure if it had been a 3:32 - 3:34 pace it would've been a two-horse race between Tefera and Soget. But George, what a talent. U18 champ, now U20 champ. Bring on Tokyo.
Samuel Tefera lead from 500m to 100m before the line. He looked pretty good all that time. Then, the wheels came off in the last one hundred.
What a race. Maybe it's just me, but I think Soget looks disappointed with bronze here. But George, if he keeps up like this, he might become even better than his brother. He'll be Serena to Elijah's Venus.

Sante bro.! Sad the commercialization of livestreaming of the sport we love. The govt should buy the rights and broadcast for free on its channel for all Kenyans to watch.
A big congrats to Jakob for the legitimate victory. This kid has a bright future.
Shame, as always, goes to Kenya for the rampant cheating.

Get this racist crap outta here. Tanaka had the performance of the mf'ing meet, arguably the best performance of any runner in 2018.
Will be interesting to see her and Claudia Lane battling in the future.
And big congrats to Jakob for being the clean of-age 1500 champ. Don't worry about those Kenyan rivals, they'll be toast at "21" à la Koech and Kwemboi.

You're calling someone else a racist?
People like you should be banned from the internet and locked up.

You Kenya haters are hilarious. a Japanese woman wins by blowing away her PB by nearly 30 seconds running 8:54 and you claim she must be clean.
The last time a Kenya won this event was in 2010 in a time of 9:08 and you claim all Kenyans must be doping and age-cheating.
^ The 30 seconds thing was a lie though. Learn to Google.
So proud of my people.............. The Japanese.
