Hi all.
I am very new to running, green really. I've something arround 450 km under my belt in 4 months or so. I am doing 3-5 workouts a week, I've build up to 30-40k weekly total and I am enjoying the hell of it. I remain slow, and my weight (one of the reasons I picked up the habit) remains more or less steady at 100kg. 7-7.30 mins / km seems to be my conversational pace, a (bearly) under half-hour 5 k is an effort and I have not cracked an hour in my 10 k - have not tried really, though.
I do eventually plan to run a real race-race. Initially I thought of entering a marathon (or half) in march, but there is a local half marathon on Septembers 1st, and after finishing my first 15km long run recently I began wondering... Should I go for it? Obviously - I do not want to get burned (over enthusiadtic and exhausted), I would also prefer to finish in the respectable position in the last quarter of the field :)
Any advice?
