Sick finish after lots of lane 2 running. Makes Semenya look like a girl

Shelby on the JUICE
Shelbo is on fire. She just destroyed Muir the way Muir was destroying people in the past few seasons.
Kicked from 4th positions with 120m to go and smoked everyone down the straight.
Chills with that 1500m
Awesome race by Shelby H! Bided her time, saved energy, blasted down the home stretch FTW! Catser in 6th.

How about a little description for those of us at work?
There were 4-5 women with a chance with 100 to go. Houlie moved to the outside and took a huge dump on them.

Was it like her final 100m in the USATF 5k final from 2 weeks ago?

Not quite as fast but not too far off.

The gear change wasn't quite as agressive with 60 to go, but it still blew everyone else's away
I bet we don't see Semenya running the 1500m again.

That was awesome in the men's 5000
https://twitter.com/letsrundotcom/status/1014953396250562561And then the best part may have been when Balew who was in 3rd but then 1st put up his hand in a #1 like he had this all along

The video does not show clearly what caused the leader to stumble. They should have replayed it in slow motion. Clearly he blamed the guy moving up next to him for interfering so he retaliated. I fully sympathise. If it had happened in mid-race then he would have had plenty of time to recover, so retaliation uncalled for. But with 200 to go, the contact cost him the race.
Just once, I'd like to see a sprint race without a false start.
Time for Lyles! Hope he wins it. The way he's been running would be surprised if he didn't.
Lyles 19.69
Patting myself on the back after my declaration during USAs that Shelby was in American record shape.
Also great to see Semenya get smoked.
Not bad, 19.69 after 30m of sprinting wasted on a false start

Imagine a classic Jenny Simpson race, with her sprinting by everyone for the win.
Now imagine that in a fast race and you pretty much have it.
Maybe if Muir had taken off a little sooner...but maybe not.
Semenya sandbagging? S/he should be able to run 3:49.
Shelby looked good. Not every day can one beat the clean WR holder.
Nice to see this generation of young sprinters running against each other. Not picking and choosing easy races outside of championships.
